We always recommend having a solar panel fitted to the roof of your campervan at Danbury. Our solar panel package will give you a 105 watt solar panel and lithium leisure battery which will keep you powered for longer.

It doesn’t even need to be that sunny for it to work. Even on a grey, cloudy day the sun will still give your panel some power, although the stronger the sunshine, the more electricity that will be generated.

The panels we use at Danbury have a low profile at just 2mm thick, and are lightweight and compact. They feature monocrystalline cells for maximum efficiency. Our solar expert, Kyle, explains more: “The solar and lithium package is probably by far the best package that we offer. It allows you to stay out for longer, do more, stay off grid. And it offers a third way of keeping that battery charged.

“If you didn’t have solar you’ve got two other ways of charging. You’ve got the driving, which charges the leisure battery. And you’ve also got the hook up.

“And the solar is just that third way. If you’re not driving and you’re not on the campsite, it just sort of triple charges the battery and keeps it topped up.”

Our solar panel & upgrade to lithium leisure battery costs just £1,500. And if you already have a van and want to add a solar panel, it’s no trouble at all. We are easily able to retrofit them as well as install them at the point of build.
